We have a rescue from Romania
Mixed breed (beautiful girl we love) with high guarding behaviours.
She is almost 4
Jayne has helped us learn what makes our dog tick, how to enhance respectful behaviours and increase fun with our dog.
Absolutely priceless
Jayne is non judgmental, kind, firm and clearly knows her business.
We have some work to be getting on with now we have been taught some skills.
We are less than one week in and we are already observing positive changes in role as owner and my responsibility and also Rosy's place in our family.
Thank you Jayne.
Jayne brings real knowledge to our family and how to bring out the best in our dog. We just need to get on now and practice the skills we have been taught.

Absolutely delighted with the training Jayne gave Humphrey my 11 month old mini dachshund and myself! Now I have a non reactive, non barking boy and he is a pleasure to take out. Humphrey has a stress free Mum who is no longer embarrassed by the noise such a little boy could produce. Thank you Jayne, for your invaluable skills and support 😁

Jayne was recommended to us by a friend/neighbour who had received training for his German Shepard. He had nothing but good things to say about Jayne and I can see why!
She has worked wonders with our 3 year old fox red Lab in the space of a single day.
Having previously tried a couple of other 'dog trainers/behaviourists' and not really getting anywhere with regards to our dogs behaviour, we felt that may never be able to get on top of the issues.
He has some severe resource guarding issues and terrible barking behaviour when inside the house (mainly guarding the house and barking aggressively at the window when anyone comes past).
Jayne came to our home for a 3 hour session and honestly, by the time she left after the session had finished, we were feeling so much more in control of his behaviour and how to stop it from happening.
We can now peacefully sit in our home and not have to worry when cars/vans or people walk past the house. Because now we have the knowledge of how to stop the behaviour in the least distressing way possible (for us and our dog).
Using similar tactics for when he would bark and attack the lawn mower, vacuum cleaner or wet vac as well. I was able to cut my grass this weekend with the dog attacking the mower at every second, or having to keep him indoors. Now he simply sits outside with me whilst I cut the grass and even walk up to me and follow me around.
We are ASTOUNDED at how quickly we've managed to curb his bad behaviour and start to get things under control. It is still early days for us, but the huge changes we've seen so far have been well worth the money!
If anyone is thinking they need a dog trainer or behaviourist, you don't need to look any further. These guys are amazing at what they do, with years of experience behind them both.
We will certainly be recommending them to everyone and anyone who needs help or advice.

Me and my husband used Jayne for our 3m old Rottweiler pup, and wow what a difference in her just within a week. We are so glad we used Jayne for sapphires training she’s a different dog and so much better to handle, 100% recommend her for training and a good price especially for 1 to 1 so all the attention was on the pup and ourselves. Its lovely that we can still message Jayne for any questions we have and we got a phone call a week later to see how it’s all going, we are also meeting again end of June for recall and lead training out and about with other dogs which we are really looking forward too.
Thank you so much Jayne your amazing :) xx

We adopted a young rescue German shepherd who we were told was "great with other dogs" and it very rapidly became clear that she was definitely not. She is around 9 months old and very over-stimulated when she sees other dogs, and she barks and screams uncontrollably. She seems to have learnt that she can jump all over other dogs and force them to play roughly with her and she gets very frustrated if she can't get to every dog she sees. I have experience of human-reactivity but this is a whole new and somewhat unexpected ball game!
Jayne was great and gave me the confidence to get out and walk, knowing I can keep our dog at a low enough threshold to get past dogs, or even meet them without the screaming. It's early days and she does still bark and squeak, but it's significantly reduced. Several other trainers and people considering themselves experts told me, having seen her behaviour, that it would take many months to get her near to other dogs.
Before seeing Jayne, I couldn't walk our dog at all without her barking maniacally at dogs, even from a great distance, and was paying for a field every day. We are continuing to work on it and will have top up sessions as and when we need them.
Unfortunately, it seems 90% of dogs living in our area are dog-reactive, with their owners hiding in bushes, shouting to us to move out the way of their dogs, or just allowing them to bark at us from half a mile away. That's making it harder to meet calm dogs and teach her how to be calm around them herself. The whole village needs Jayne's services!
Thank you Jayne (and dogs!). I'm hopeful we can have a more calm and measured existence in future, with a dog who is able to have some friends. She sends her love to Olive.

We cannot recommend Jayne highly enough. She has really gone above and beyond to help us. We had our first session just two weeks ago and have seen a complete change in behaviour from our dog (18 month, male Collie/Pyrenean). Despite being cuddly and adoring at home, and with anyone he knew as ‘family’, he was reactive to almost every dog he passed: growling, lunging, barking and biting, if he could. He was increasingly territorial and was showing signs of aggression to people who entered the house, or who came close to us on walks. We had worked with a trainer before but nothing had changed.
We rang Jayne, who booked us in the same week and came to our house for a visit. Very quickly, Jayne pinpointed the issues and trained us (not Zorro!) in how to show stronger leadership and correct the behaviours which were becoming ingrained, both at home and out on walks. I will admit that I felt quite embarrassed having grown up with collies, but not knowing how to help our own dog. Jayne made us feel completely at ease and was so compassionate. We knew that we had been going wrong but didn’t know how to fix it. Jayne built up our confidence immediately as we took Zorro out to a dog-packed park and practised the new strategies with her. She even brought out her (gorgeous) rottie to make Zorro as uncomfortable as possible while we put him through his paces. Within minutes, he was happily plodding along beside Jayne’s dog. Her action plan was really clear and easy to follow, so walks which had been really nerve-wracking and full of avoidance are now so much better.
It’s hard to believe how quick the turnaround has been: we have not had a single problem since seeing Jayne and can now walk past any dog without issue. Zorro is calmer, happier and responding to us so much better. Jayne has gone completely above and beyond to help us, and I will be singing her praises to anyone who will listen!

Thank you Jayne for your help and expertise!
Throughout our consultation Jayne gave me knowledge on the best food for buddy within our budget, helped to assess where would be best for him to have his safe space in our home, helped me to understand his behaviour better and taught me how to make sure I stay in control. The confidence that I gained after meeting with Jayne has been amazing which in turn has given buddy more confidence too. We were seeing great results within the same day and even more so now almost 2 weeks later. We are very much looking forward to having some follow up sessions with Jayne in the near future. (Photo attached of buddy having a rest in the shop calmly and quietly which was just not possible before Jayne helped with reactivity)

Jayne came to help with my 18 week old lab cross. She was very knowledgeable about what was best for him. We have swapped his harness for one she suggested and his pulling has become so much better and walking him is much more enjoyable . We got him sleeping happily in his crate within a few days. She also gave us some great advice about training him recall with a long lead. I feel more confident in my ability to train him now. I highly recommend Jayne. Thank you

Cannot stress enough how fantastic Ashclyst Dog Training & Behaviour have been. We have a 4 year old mixed breed rescue and an 11 month old Pyrenean Mountain Dog who had upturned our whole house. Despite our best efforts and lots of love, our home was in absolute chaos. We knew this was through no fault of the dogs and was certainly us doing things wrong but were at our absolute whits end. Jayne walked in and our boisterous, crazy pup was put in his place and thanks to working with her and the plan she set out for us he has stayed there!
I should add we are very experienced dog owners, particularly with Pyre's and German sheppherds but had not had 2 dogs before. Jayne was an absolute star. We felt she had all the time in the world to help with our issues and she worked with us on all of them during our session (including 2 very minor things we totally forgot about). She was very clear on what we needed to do and also very compassionate and understanding with how we had got where we were. It was lovely to finish the session with a nice calm walk with our pup and her lovely dog Olive. The ongoing phone support is there if needed and the plan works if you stick to it. I will be eternally grateful. Our house is again a home, with 2 lovely chilled dogs who sleep through the night and are relaxed and calm, whether seperate or together. We are getting nearer to snuggles everyday which is lovely. Best thing we ever did for our lovely boys.

Couldn't recommend enough! Jayne made such an amazing difference in my dog Kevin straight away. I never thought I’d be able to walk Kevin around people and dogs again after our last behaviourist made no difference I had almost given up. After just one session Kevin has been able to come off his medication and is a much happier dog. Jaynes techniques are very clear and easy to follow but make such an incredible difference. Everyone who knows us is very impressed and cannot believe the difference. We have a much happier dog and walks are no longer a stressful chore but actually enjoyable!
